Souris

Souris! means Smile! in french.  I was waiting in line at the supermarket the other day and saw how everyone looked grim and tired. Angry even. They probably weren’t. I probably wasn’t smiling either. You know how when you are lost deep in thoughts about things to be done, something here and something there that is troubling you. It doesn’t have to be a huge thing, but we all have “little rough” areas of our daily lives we have to work on, sand them down, fix them as it were.

I read a quote by the french philosopher Voltaire that said “The most important decision you will make, is to be in a good mood”. Sounds easy, but of course it isn’t. But maybe a step in the right direction is to remember to smile. It softens your expression and I think too it softens your outlook on the “problems” to be solved. I don’t want to sound like a crazy “happy guru”. I don’t mean “go around smiling like a psycho” or refuse to acknowledge serious stuff. Naha…but, smile. SOURIS! Get in the mood… decide to be kind to yourself, and then others.

We all need to be reminded of this every now and then, right?

This drawing is uploaded to my portfolio on Redbubble under Florcirasart. <– clicky! You can buy it as a print or card, but also in a drawstring bag, a travel mug… a t-shirt! But most of all, remember to SMILE!
